What Is My IP?

The What Is My IP tool shows the public address seen by TraceRoo. It is useful when confirming WAN IP changes, VPN egress, NAT behavior, or whether a user is coming from the network they think they are.

What It Shows

  • Public IPv4 or IPv6 address.
  • Basic browser-side network context.
  • A quick refresh option when testing VPN or failover changes.

When To Use It

Use it at the start of a support call, after changing VPN state, when checking IP allowlists, or when a service provider asks for the source IP that is reaching the internet.

Reading The Result

  • If the IP changes after enabling a VPN, traffic is likely exiting through that VPN.
  • If an allowlisted service still fails, compare this IP with the address on the allowlist.
  • If IPv6 appears unexpectedly, check whether the application path prefers IPv6.
