CNAM Lookup

CNAM Lookup gives support teams a quick view of caller name and number metadata. It helps when validating caller ID presentation or checking number ownership clues.

Note: 5 CNAM or Number Risk lookups per visitor every 24 hours.

What It Can Show

  • Caller name when available.
  • Carrier or line provider signals.
  • Line type such as mobile, landline, or VoIP when provided.
  • Broad location details for the number.

When To Use It

Use it when customers report wrong outbound caller name, when checking transferred numbers, or when separating CNAM display issues from SIP caller ID signaling.

Important Notes

  • CNAM data can lag after porting or carrier changes.
  • The receiving carrier may cache or override display names.
  • CNAM is separate from STIR/SHAKEN attestation.
