Ping Test

Ping Test sends a small set of probes from the TraceRoo server to a target. It gives a fast read on reachability, latency, and basic packet loss.

What It Shows

  • Minimum, average, and maximum latency when available.
  • Packet loss across the selected probe count.
  • Whether the target responds to ICMP from TraceRoo.

When It Helps

Use it for first-pass reachability checks, comparing a public service from outside your network, or confirming whether packet loss is visible from TraceRoo's point of view.

Limitations

  • Some hosts block or deprioritize ICMP.
  • A successful ping does not prove TCP, SIP, HTTPS, or email ports work.
  • For path detail, use MTR or Traceroute.
