Ping Test
Ping Test sends a small set of probes from the TraceRoo server to a target. It gives a fast read on reachability, latency, and basic packet loss.
What It Shows
- Minimum, average, and maximum latency when available.
- Packet loss across the selected probe count.
- Whether the target responds to ICMP from TraceRoo.
When It Helps
Use it for first-pass reachability checks, comparing a public service from outside your network, or confirming whether packet loss is visible from TraceRoo's point of view.
Limitations
- Some hosts block or deprioritize ICMP.
- A successful ping does not prove TCP, SIP, HTTPS, or email ports work.
- For path detail, use MTR or Traceroute.
