Traceroute Tool

Traceroute Tool helps inspect the path packets take toward a destination. TraceRoo includes both a live traceroute helper and a parser for pasted traceroute output.

What It Helps With

• Hop-by-hop path visibility.
• Latency changes between hops.
• Timeouts or missing hop responses.
• Cleaner reading of pasted traceroute or tracert output.

When To Use It

Use it when checking routing changes, ISP path oddities, VPN egress, public endpoint reachability, or whether traffic appears to leave through the expected network.

Reading Results

• A timeout at one hop does not always mean the path is broken.
• Focus on problems that continue to the final hop.
• Use MTR when you need repeated probes and packet loss percentages.
