What TraceRoo can and cannot prove

TraceRoo is built for public troubleshooting clues: DNS answers, public path checks, port reachability, certificates, mail records, VoIP media symptoms, fax tests, and packet-capture review. It helps narrow the next check, but it is not a replacement for logs, captures, provider portals, or tests from the affected LAN.

Good for Outside-in checks, quick comparisons, copyable evidence, and explaining results during support work.
Not proof of Private firewall health, customer Wi-Fi, carrier internals, or what a user sees from their own network.
Use results as Troubleshooting leads. Repeat tests, compare directions, and confirm with logs before making changes.

field notes

Middle-hop packet loss that disappears later is usually not your outage.

DNS propagation checks compare resolver caches, not absolute truth from every network.

A clean SIP ladder can still have broken RTP. Signaling and media fail differently.

An open TCP port proves reachability, not that the application behind it is healthy.
